New York Knicks reserve guard Jose Alvarado will miss Friday’s NBA Cup game against the Philadelphia 76ers because of a right ankle injury, according to the NBA’s injury report.

Alvarado will miss his fourth straight game. He last played last Friday in Boston, logging 10 minutes.

Knicks coach Mike Brown did not indicate that the injury is a long-term issue when asked about it Tuesday night.

Kolek Steps In

In Alvarado’s absence, Tyler Kolek has performed admirably, recording 21 assists and zero turnovers over the past three games.
